HARITA Nickel is an integrated nickel mining and downstream company. Operating in Obi Island, South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku, HARITA Nickel possesses two Production Mining Business Permit (IUP) namely PT Trimegah Bangun Persada (TBP) and PT Gane Permai Sentosa (GPS) with total area of operation up to 5,523 Ha. HARITA Nickel commenced its mining operation in 2009 adopting open pit mine system employing open-cast method.
Comply with Mining Law No. 4 of 2009 which is revised into Law No. 3 of 2020 regarding Mineral and Coal Mining that requires downstream development of mining products, HARITA Nickel through PT Megah Surya Pertiwi (MSP) operates nickel smelter applying Pyro-metallurgical technology of Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF). The smelter plant has processed high grade nickel ores (saprolite) to Ferronickel (FeNi) since 2016.
HARITA Nickel’s commitments for downstream industry continues by developing nickel processing and refining operated by PT Halmahera Persada Lygend (HPL) adopting Hydrometallurgical Technology of High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) producing Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP).
