While preparing your submission, please consider the following items as your guideline:

  • The article was written in English (American English) and carefully reviewed by a native English editor.
  • Prepare your article in two documents:
    • Full Article that includes any author information (Name, Affiliation, and Email for each author).
    • Anonymous Article that excludes any author information (Name, Affiliation, and Email for each author).
    Please rename your article with this format: “Manuscript_Name of First Author”.
  • Please carefully prepare your files based on the provided templates, both Full Article and Anonymous Article. Make sure that any author information has been excluded in the Anonymous Article. Pay attention to every detail instruction in the template.
  • The article shall contain at least 6 pages and a maximum of 10 pages, including references. If the article includes more than 10 pages, the publisher will charge approximately USD 20 for each additional page.
  • Please prepare at least one reviewer that might be competent to provide a substantial review of the article.
  • Please carefully check the Ethics section for more guidelines on Submission Ethics, Review Ethics, and Similarity Check.
  • Articles accepted for Oral and Poster Presentation have the same rights for publication. The committee will make the decision for Accepted Oral and Poster.

Online Submissions Guideline

Before Submitting your Article, please ensure the policies, such as:

  • For Proceedings, Authors can submit the article maximum 2 articles whether as a First Author, Correspondence Author, or Third Author and so on;
  • For JESSD or IASSSF Journals, maximum paper submission is 3 articles.
  • For Authors that submit with Oral and/or Poster Presentation has a same right for Publication Plan.

Please follow the enclosed article template and sample article while preparing your articles. Copy and paste directly to the template with some sort of adjustment. Minimum number of pages required is 6 pages and maximum 10 pages for Proceeding, including References. Please also delete any information about author(s), including the Acknowledgements section. Any article submission that do not comply to the template will be returned or directly rejected.

Please confirm the following statements before finishing submission:

  • The uploaded files has been carefully prepared based on the provided templates*
  • The article represents a qualified scientific knowledge that might come from international collaborations*
  • Author(s) has/have approved the article and agree(s) with the submission, therefore any withdrawal of the article is prohibited once it is submitted*
  • Author(s) is/are willing to pay the symposium fee and publication fee charged by the organizers (symposium fee is mandatory charged for one author attendance virtually while publication fee is optionally charged before the symposium or after the article is listed in Scopus)*
  • The article does not contain any form of plagiarism*
  • Author(s) has/have made significant substantial contribution to the article, whether it is in the concept or design, acquisition of data, analysis and interpretation, or in all these areas*
  • The article has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere (either partly or wholly)*
  • Author(s) has/have acknowledged any conflict of interest in the article, if necessary*
  • Author(s) has/have acknowledged any source of funding in the article, if necessary*
  • The article was written in English and carefully reviewed by a native English editor*

Ethics

Submission Ethics

Ethics in JESSD Symposium is based on Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Before submitting your article(s), please ensure that your submission completely represents the following statements:

  • The uploaded files have been carefully prepared based on the provided templates, both title page (title, author name(s), affiliation(s), abstract, and acknowledgements) and article (title, abstract, introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, and references).
  • The article represents a qualified scientific knowledge that might come from international collaborations.
  • Author(s) has/have approved the article and agree(s) with the submission, therefore any withdrawal of the article is prohibited once it is submitted.
  • Author(s) is/are willing to pay the symposium fee and publication fee charged by the organizers (symposium fee is mandatory charged for one author attendance virtually while publication fee is optionally charged before the symposium or after the article is listed in Scopus).

Review Ethics

The author(s) is/are required to propose one reviewer and another one reviewer optionally. However, the organizers manage to prevent any conflict of interest that might be happened during review process. Therefore, please ensure that your suggested reviewer fits the following criteria:

  • He/she is an expert in the relevant field.
  • He/she has no competing interest with the author(s).
  • He/she has never been involved in any related work with the author(s).
  • He/she does not know the author(s) personally.

There is no certainty that the organizer will accept your suggested reviewer. The double-blind peer review will be conducted, therefore reviewers will not receive any author(s) information and vice versa.

Similarity Check

Each submitted article will be going to preliminary review with Turnitin. Through the preliminary review, any form of plagiarism will be detected and measured. If similarity check result is more than 20%, the article will be returned or directly rejected. Moreover, the preliminary review will also consider return or direct rejection due to, but not limited to, the following reasons:

  • Falling out of topic.
  • Multiple submission or consideration for other publications.
  • Recommendation for rejection from reviewer.

Accepted Paper

The accepted papers of each publication output will be shown on this page.

Review Process

Review Period

  • The review process will be completed within 3 to 14 days.
  • Each reviewer can handle a maximum of 3 articles.

Substantial Review

  • Relevance to the conference topic.
  • Importance of the research / State-of-the-art.
  • Proper methodology.
  • Arguments and conclusions.
  • Academic writing quality.

Other Information

  • Authors will receive 1 Technical Review and a minimum of 2 Substantial Reviews from Committee suggestions.
  • When the article is delivered to the publisher, every author will receive a Galley Proof. Authors must agree with the edited version, except for any corrections from the author.
  • Every author will receive information and the status of the article after submission.

Registration Fee

Types of Payment

There are two types of payment:

  • Symposium Fee: Includes registration fee for submitting and attending the symposium. This fee is paid after the paper has been accepted by the editor to be presented in the symposium. The amount is $75.
  • Publication Fee: Includes proofreading, editing, and publication fee. This fee is paid after the paper has been published. The amount is $125 (for proceedings submitted for inclusion in leading Abstracting and Indexing services, including Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar).

After your payment is confirmed, the committee will send receipts/invoices as a reply to the email.

Terms and Conditions

Maximum paper submission for each author depends on the publication output:

  • Proceedings: Two papers
  • Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development: Three papers
  • IASSSF Journals: Three papers

Authors accepted for Oral and/or Poster Presentation have the same rights for the Publication Plan.

All Authors with accepted papers or posters must present their work during the conference virtually. Authors may present live or using a video presentation. However, all Authors are required to send their video presentation to prevent connection problems during the presentation. Your video presentation and poster will be archived on our website, and your video presentation will be uploaded to our YouTube channel.

The registration fee includes access to download presentation materials, e-certificate, and participation in live question and discussion sessions with presenters and speakers.

The registration fee covers one participant only. Multiple authors who attend must register separately, and those who are not presenting should register as participants/audience.

Payments are non-refundable.

Payments cannot be made in cash: they must be paid via e-billings or credit cards.

Participants are responsible for transfer fees and bank charges.

At least one author for each accepted paper must register.

Participants are charged based on their institution/affiliation, not the nationality of the first author.

Submitting an extra paper is applicable only for the same presenter.

Deadlines can be seen in the Important Dates section.

After your payment is confirmed, you are registered as either a presenter or a participant. The committee will send a receipt as a reply to the email.

Proof of payments must be sent to symposium.jessd@ui.ac.id using the following format:

  • Email subject: “Proof of Payments – Participant – Registration No. XXX” (if you are registering as a participant/symposium audience); or
  • Email subject: “Proof of Payments – Presenter – Paper ID No. XXX”

Please provide us with more information in the email, including: Paper ID and Title, Name of Author(s) to be written in the receipt, Authors’ Affiliations, Amount and currency of payment made, and Type of payment: Presenter or Participant.
